A paddle raise, also called a fund-a-need or live appeal, is a direct donation moment during your event where guests give outright announced giving levels rather than bidding on items. An auctioneer calls out amounts ($5,000, $1,000, $500) and guests respond by raising their paddle and getting thanked for their contribution. This mission moment makes it one of the highest revenue-generating moments of any fundraising event due to friendly competition and anticipation.
When the live appeal begins, guests raise their paddles to donate at giving levels your organization has pre-determined.
